A single leaf is carved in deep relief, tendrils spreading across the background. The reverse is smooth and has a slight curve. The upper and lower edges are finished and concave, a thinly incised line borders the finished edges. The surface with roots marks, incrustation and staining.
Carved from white marble, this intriguing fragment likely came from the support of a garden ornament.
